Guidelines, Procedures and Schedule

Transportation:
At the beginning of the school year, I will collect information on how your child gets home from school. However, I understand that there are times when transportation changes. If your child has a change in transportation, please be sure to notify me in advance. You can send an email that morning or write a note in your child's planner. If there is a last minute change due to an emergency, please call the office so they can get the information to me. I do not check email or answer phone calls during instruction in order to give your child my full attention so I may not get your email or voice message if you call during the school day. For your child's safety, I cannot allow changes in transportation without notification from a parent/guardian.

If your child is not a bus rider, please make sure that you are at school by 2:55pm to pick them up each day.

If a last minute transportation change arises, please call the front office before 2:15pm and they will notify me.

Arrival:
Attendance is very important to your child’s progress. Students will walk to their classroom right away in the morning. Teachers will have "before school" activities in their classrooms for students to work on.

The earliest a student may arrive is 7:15am and they will be asked to come upstairs to our 3rd grade common area and into their classroom. Class begins promptly at 7:40.  Students arriving after 7:40 will need to report to the school office for a tardy slip before coming to the classroom.  If arriving after 8:30, the student’s lunch choice will need to be turned in to the office if ordering from the cafeteria.

Dismissal:
Students are dismissed at 2:55pm.  Students line up in the third grade hallway and are escorted by third grade teachers to their dismissal areas. Please do not come to the classroom to pick up your child. Students will be waiting for pick up at the following areas:

  • Car Riders (grades 3 - 5): Students will be picked up by car at the designated car rider line at the front school. Please make sure to have the "orange 3rd grade sign" posted on your car's dash with your students name on it. Signs will be provided at School Supply Drop Off and Open House. Please let me know if you need a sign if plans change after that time.

  • Car Riders (with younger siblings): If your child has a younger sibling, then you will pick up both of your children at the BACK of the school using the car rider line. Again, please make sure to have your "orange 3rd grade sign" posted in your car window.

  • Day Care: Students will be picked up by their daycare provided by the "D wing" or side of the school between 3:00 - 3:15pm.

  • Bus Riders: Students will walk to the side of the school and picked up by their bus there

  • YMCA: Students will go to cafeteria/gym corridor.

  • Walkers/Bikers: These students will leave the building from the front of the school. If parents want to walk home with their child, please meet your child by the bike racks. Otherwise, these students will use the designated crosswalks as they walk or ride their bike home.
